The moment I fell in love with Impressionism
It was on a school trip to FSU Museum of Fine Arts. Of course I saw lots of art there and some of it I admit was not in my taste or I didn't understand cause I was just a kid. There was this piece I thought was not very interesting as it just looked like a bunch of messy brush strokes. We toured the rest of the art and coming back through the hallway this time I was not as close to it. That's when I saw the magic of impressionism for the first time.
The realization struck me like a thunder bolt. In that moment the image became clear. I didn't want to leave but stare in wonder at this painting. For what I saw was not messy brushstrokes any longer but the most amazing scene of a marketplace, bustling with people, filled with light and life. Every brushstroke told the story, every little color created an object in the scene. I had witnessed so much art that day but I'll never forget that piece. Though I don't know who the artist was and I would love to see it again one day.
For years I thought I could never paint anything like that but why not try? that's where I am now so come with me on my journey!
